Circa 1880 outside row Looff stander striding forward in an unusual walking gait. The gracefully posed figure with a deeply carved mane having three openwork “peek-a-boos” bears trappings including a saddle with a flower carved cantle and tassel girthed over a fancy edged blanket, a jeweled bridle, a scalloped shoulder strap with tassel, and a tasseled breastband bearing applique metal jewel keepers- the motif continued to the breeching. Stripped to the natural wood, glass eyes, natural horsehair tail, 56 long x 56 high.
