Circa 1905 C.I.D. Looff all wood greyhound once aboard the parted out Salem Willows Park carousel in Salem, MA. The alert standing dog wearing a buckled collar is a rare one having a nicely detailed curly neck “ruff” and carries a saddle with flap and scrolled cantle resting on a simple blanket. The shoulder strap, breastband, side trace and breeching are tasseled and furnished with starburst jewels in composition settings. Painted by renowned folk art restoration painter Peter Deen. 75 long x 55 high.
