Circa 1809s jumper from the Dare carousel works in Brooklyn, NY. The horse carries its glass-eyed head on an erect neck furnished with a full flowing mane. The simple saddle rests on a squarish fringed blanket and is secured by a bordered breastband, shoulder strap and breeching. Painted flower motifs enhance the trappings. The tail and forelegs are restoration modifications. 56 long x 56 high.
