1635-2 - Looff - SOLD

Circa 1895 second row jumper from the Charles Looff factory in Brooklyn, NY. The figure carries its glass-eyed head high on an outstretched neck with a flowing mane. Trappings include a wide breastband depending classic Looff tassels. The saddle terminates in a carved flower and is girthed over a fancifully carved scalloped blanket with a tassel while tasseled ribbons cascade from under the cantle. Classic Looff composition leafed rosettes enclosing crystal starburst jewels decorate the breast and headstall. Natural hair tail, presenting in the natural wood and measuring 48 long x 51 high.
