A charming child size wooden carousel figure from the French firm of Henri and Jacques Mathiew. The sturdy Saint Bernard strides forth, bearing a wooden cask of brandy, ready to revive and rescue a weary traveler. The figure is harnessed of the signature scoop saddle and tasseled blanket of the Mathiew atelier. A collar surrounds its neck and a brass handle provides the rider with a secure grip. Nicely painted in a natural color scheme, showing minor seam separation. 31 long x 29.5 high.
