This all wood second row stander last operated on the circa 1914 San Souci Park carousel in Wilkes Barre, PA. The mane carved in high relief is borne on an upright neck supporting a glass eyed head restrained by a simple bridle furnished with a large jeweled boss. A characteristic spoon shaped saddle with fancy flap rests on a fringed and bordered blanket while a deeply carved floral composition appears behind the cantle. Embracing the chest, the peytral is furnished with large jeweled bosses and the theme is echoed in the breeching. 57 inches long x 55 inches high, stand included.
