Circa 1905. This figure is representative of the style of figure produced
during the era of transition of assets from the E. Joy Morris Company to
the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Showing a blend of the styles of both
companies, this jumper exhibits the large eyed pleasant face typical of
the Morris factory and the jumper position with inclined back favored by
PTC. The horse bears simple trappings with tassels and later applied jewels.
It presents in good condition with many layered paint history. A good candidate
for a not very difficult restoration or leave as is and enjoy his well earned
battle scars. 49 long x 52 high. 39 chest to rump. |
