919-1 - Herschell-Spillman - SOLD
Circa 1910. In a departure from the familiar riding horse the Herschell-Spillman company offered this sportsman's companion - a golden hunting dog with intricately detailed fur and a bushy tail, his left paw raised in anticipation of pursuit of the game. The dog is harnessed of a saddle accented with a ring and a large buckle and bears a studded collar secured with a second buckle. In as found condition with some delamination and good park paint. Deaccessioned from the Atwater Kent Museum in Philadelphia. 58 long x 41 high.
