From Rocky Point Park, Warwick, Rhode Island - early 1900s. An outside row stander having a lavishly carved flowing mane with peek-a-boo. The figure depicted in a pose suggestive of a running horse sliding to a halt. Upraised head, jeweled headstall, rippled saddle blanket, jeweled tassels depending from the cantle, a breastband carved with intricately interlaced straps enclosing a dozen jewels, natural horsehair tail. Nice older restoration showing seam lines. 60 long x 56 high, 48 chest to rump.
