Circa 1920 jumper from the Friedrich Heyn carousel factory in Nuestadt,
Germany. This is the "race horse" style, manufactured for export
to the British marketthus exhibiting its right side to the viewer
to accommodate its position on the clockwise rotating British machines.
The horse is decorated in the "Dresden mirror horse" mode, lavished
with high relief carving, a cantle terminating in a lion's head, and seven
large oval mirror jewels. The horse has glass eyes, a natural horsehair
tail and presents in solid condition in dapple grey with a beautifully
patinated and distressed surface showing the grace of age. 53 long x 40
high.
