873-6 - Anderson - SOLD
Typical of British horses this circa 1905 outside row roundabout steed spurns realism and gallops away lavished with incised arabesques terminating in bird and dragon heads. The horse bears characteristic Anderson metal ears, glass eyes, natural horsehair tail, and on its breast a deeply carved flower enclosed by leaves with a similar flower on the headstall. Stripped and in good wood condition, now showing subdued traces of its former flamboyant color.
~65 long x 41 high, 35 chest to rump.
