| 864-8 - Dentzel - SOLD Circa 1885 Gustav Dentzel. A horse with attitude, this proudly strutting barrel-chested outside row stander appears in old, perhaps original paint, beneath a top surface of dappled park paint. Deeply carved layered mane, glass jewels and eyes, natural horse hair tail. In as-found condition with some seam separation and left front hoof missing lamination. See page 52, "Art of the Carousel" by Charlotte Dinger for a nearly identical figure. 58 long x 61 high, 47 chest to rump. |
