Rare Sea Monster from the circa 1915 Herschell Spillman park carousel at
Rocky Point, RI - parted out at auction in 1989. Resting on a segmented
tail terminating in a "fleur-de-lys" this cousin of the Loch Ness
Monster stretches forth its clawed forepaws as it raises its seaweed bedecked
neck the better to display its fiercely roaring mouth. The creature's wings
conveniently form a saddle to accommodate those who dare to ride this denizen
of the deep. An older restoration with some stress lines on the neck and
