Circa 1910 outside row lion from the menagerie machine last operated at Newton Lake, Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Exhibiting exceptional trappings, the lavishly maned striding king of beasts bares his fangs and roars a challenge. However he seems unconcerned about the winged human figure terminating in high relief scrollwork which clings to his saddle blanket and the fringed scarf and three tassels which depend from the saddle cantle. Restored. 84 long x 54 high.
