685-9 - German Prancer - $7,000
An impressively large German prancer from the 1984 dispersion of the carousel figures from Fantasy Farm Amusement Park, Middletown, Ohio. Although mounted on a brass pole, horse still retains its original neck handle and platform attachment fixture and is distinguished by a sensitive face, glass eyes, ornate scalloped and scrolled trappings, tassels, painted rose embellishments, a metal lion's head medallion on the breastband and a natural horse hair tail. Some seam cracks appear on this older restoration by the late Charles Jakubowski. Photos of the carousel on which this horse rode can be found in Carrousel Art #6, pages 47-49. 60 long x 59 high.
