| 161-8 - Thummel - $6,500 c.1900 Thummel (Germany). Professionally restored by Sandy Paul and Gary Franklin. Handpainted in artist's oil to a pale dappled chestnut with English red and dusty green trappings. A pair of nearly identical prancers with attentive expressions, scalloped breastbands, saddle cantles in the form of eagles wings and shoulders, trappings enhanced with painted arabesques and floratifs. 48 long x 51 high, 33 chest-to-rump. |
