Circa 1915 jumper from the Charles Carmel carousel factory. The elevated
head is carried on an erect neck furnished with foreswept mane in high
relief. Trappings include a double layered peytral, the upper layer having
tassels depending from keyhole lappets, the under layer in several rows
of shallow arches. The saddle with a carved fringed flap rests on a double
blanket with fringed border, the theme being continued on the loin strap
while a tasseled bedroll is tucked behind the cantle. Older restoration
in very good condition, glass eyes and natural horsehair tail. 54 long
x 51 high.
